The New Sigma Experience

Posted by: Thomas Scibilia in websitepersonal on

Thomas Scibilia

Brothers,

This website respresents over 6 months of hard work and diligence of the team who came up with the ideas and put it all into practice so we can experience a network for Pi Sigma Chi like no other. This post is dedicated to the work of Thomas Scibilia, Erik Johnson, Andre Garabedian, and Kevin Wong.

Together we bring you a new experience for Pi Sigma Chi, in which we can collaborate privately without worry of anyone but registered members seeing the content. In this new interface called Joomla! we can share in the experience of building a website together. Our site is now "community based" and what you see right now is the basic content we thought should be here, but it is up to every registered member to contribute articles (especially to the frontpage), fraternity documents, events, photos, dues payments, contributions, experiences, thoughts and ideas. The best part is the expandability, if you feel we should add an internal job posting page then use the contact form to request it, etc.

Pi Sigma Chi had built this version of the website (shown below) 7 years ago and it stood unedited and never updated from 2001-2003.

We must have never had reoccurring payments set up with the hosting company so the website and the name “pisigmachi.com” was lost and made available to anyone to purchase. Luckily no one had done that and I grabbed it back from the abyss of the internet over 1 year later in early 2005 and we had our second revision our web appearance (shown in the next image).

Pi Sigma Chi had set up a basketball game with Kappa Sigma Fraternity. The athletic director of Pratt would outfit the game with referees, benches, scorer table and the big scoreboard with the bleachers as if it was an official Pratt basketball game. It was this past Sunday, December 7th at 4:30pm in the Pratt gym. In the end we won with the final score 43-21!
